Learning Objectives

1- To review the current international landscape of combined paediatric thoracic (heart or lung) and abdominal (liver or kidney) transplantation in children including organ allocation considerations and paediatric prioritization.
2- To review indications, challenges and outcomes for heart-liver transplantation in children with complex congenital heart disease.
3- To review indications, challenges and outcomes for lung-liver and lung-kidney transplantation in children.
4- To review how to assess renal function, optimize potential for renal recovery, and determining need and timing of kidney transplant in paediatric thoracic transplant candidates with a focus on mechanical support.
