Description

With representation from junior faculty, mid-career faculty, and senior faculty (and IPTA leadership), this session will provide a condensed high-level learning opportunity for our trainees and junior faculty members. The first part of the session will address basic topics including immunology, immunosuppression, laboratory techniques, treatment of rejection, and review unique cases and how to approach them. After the break, the second session will address updates in our field, including novel approaches and techniques in our field. The attendees will obtain both a background in the field of transplantation, and understand what is on the horizon for care of their patients.

Learning Objectives

Session Goals:
1) To provide a rich background in basic topics in transplantation for trainees and junior faculty members, to best set them up for improved learning opportunities from the full congress.
2) To discuss upcoming and important transformational topics in the field of transplantation for children.
