Prof. Olivia Boyer is a Pediatric Nephrologist at Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital and full Professor of Pediatrics at the Université de Paris in France. After her undergraduate training, pediatric residency and fellowship in pediatric nephrology in Paris, she completed a clinical research fellowship at Children's Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School. She also obtained a Master of Science in Physiology and a PhD in Genetics. Prof. Olivia Boyer is the head of the department of Pediatric Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation at Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital, which is the leading hospital in France for rare diseases in children and adults. Her main areas of clinical expertise are pediatric rare renal diseases such as nephrotic syndrome, hemolytic and uremic syndrome, lupus, tubulopathies, hereditary kidney diseases … Her research projects, conducted at the Imagine Institute in Paris, focus on the genetic basis, pathophysiology and treatment of nephrotic syndrome and the pharmacokinetics of orphan drugs in rare diseases and transplantation. She has also established numerous national and international collaborations, including research projects on complement-mediated disorders. She has won several national and international awards and prizes, including the Renée Habib IPNA Award in 2019. Prof. Olivia Boyer is a board member of the International Association of Pediatric Nephrology (IPNA). She is also the chair of the ERKNet Guidelines and Best Practice taskforce, the past chair of the IPNA Guidelines and Best Practice Committee, and board member of the ESPN Educationnal Committee.
